Bertrand’s Townhouse spans three interlinked Georgian townhouses on Bedford Place. It draws inspiration from philosopher Bertrand Russell. The design also references the Bloomsbury Group, including Virginia Woolf and E.M. Forster.
The hotel celebrates Bloomsbury’s rich intellectual history. It offers a stylish, contemporary stay that feels like a refined home away from home.
At the heart of the property is a snug, moodily lit bar. The bar evokes a 1910s literary salon, with plush chairs and a thoughtfully crafted cocktail selection. Guests can settle in as they would in a private drawing room, enjoying live music performances and relaxed conversation. Within an atmosphere that blends culture, warmth and unhurried evenings in true Bloomsbury fashion.
The review also highlights the hotel’s comfortable rooms and thoughtful design details, from vast Persian rugs to Diptyque amenities and exceptionally comfortable beds. Each space combines elegance with warmth, offering an upmarket yet welcoming retreat. Guests can relax and feel at home in one of London’s most storied neighbourhoods.
This recognition from The Times reflects Bertrand’s Townhouse’s commitment to creating a hotel experience that is both culturally rich and effortlessly comfortable, a place where guests can settle in, unwind and enjoy Bloomsbury as if it were their own London home.
